Technique and safety are key factors
The WLC is subject to strict rules regarding technique and safety. Every competitor must participate with one chainsaw that has been approved by the competition organizers. The saw must be standard, out-of-the-box versions. Three saw blades and four chains may be used for the various events. If necessary a replacement saw may be used during the competition, with permission from the organizers.
Participants must wear approved protective equipment such as protective jacket, trousers, gloves, boots and helmet with visor and hearing protection. The same clothing restrictions apply for judges and functionaries. Each participant must also have a first-aid kit at hand.

Day 1 Thursday 23rd Sept 2010
• Arrival of the teams at the airport, transfer to the hotel or arrival in hotel with own vehicles
• 12:00 - 19:00 Chainsaw control
• 16:00 – 19:00 Sightseeing tour
• 18:00 – 20:00 General Assembly, Meeting of technical leaders
• 21:00 Dinner in Hotel and opening ceremony
Day 2 Friday 24th Sept 2010
• Transfer to the competition site
• Beginning of the competition at 9:00
• Lunch at the competition site
• Technical events competition
• Mast felling competition event
• Relay race competition event
• End of competition at 17:00
• Return to hotel
• Dinner in hotel
Day 3 Saturday 25th Sept 2010
• Transfer to the competition site
